Climate World Trade wants to build a house...  In fact, we want to build a MILLION of them, and really fast!

South Africa and several Third World countries have a dire need for proper and really-affordable housing.

Governments of these countries face four major obstacles:
  • A lack of capital (when they need to build a 1000 houses but only have money for 300, for example)
  • A lack of qualified and skilled manpower – for example, many brick ‘HOP-houses’ (the government’s low-cost housing project) in South Africa are falling apart due to poor construction and inadequate materials that were used
  • Time – poor people are getting angrier by the day for remaining years on waiting lists, while they stay morally depressed having to fight their challenges day after day and not getting the chance to get ahead in life
  • Bureaucracy and Corruption – during the building process of a housing project that can take months to complete money meant for materials often have to ‘oil’ an official’s hand first.

In 1994 South Africa had 300 squatter camps, today the figure stands at 2 600 and counting.  The rest of Africa is even worse, and to South American countries and several other in the world this is a common sight too.  Every winter light to normal rainfall becomes a flood streaming through these camps, causing havoc.  One candle falling over burns down everything a thousand people owned. (and if it was stolen from you, your property too.)  Every time it cost taxpayers thousands to provide emergency relief.

Politicians are quick to promise housing to the masses at election time, but if you look at the budgets available to them it is simply impossible for them to build proper brick housing with those funds.

With its rapidly expanding growth population the world needs to change its thinking on proper housing if we want to solve this problem.  We need to find an alternative to building time-consuming and expensive brick houses for low-cost housing projects.  Something that will still be ecstatically acceptable, cheaper, and faster to build, and durable.

The solution that we came up with is “a new type of pre-fabricated housing.”  Pre-fabricated homes have a stigma carried over from the past in certain countries, due to its looks, ‘they are cold in winter and hot in summer’, etc.

What is nice about them is that they can be put up within one day. (The ones we know, anyway.)

A truck arrives with the panels, doors, frame, and roof, and everything is bolted together by a team of workmen.

We are therefore looking for one or more factories, anywhere in the world, who can offer us a pre-fabricated house that ‘will amaze and excite anyone that have a grudge against conventional ones’.

It must look the same – or at least almost – than regular brick-and-mortar houses to sooth the mind-set of conservative people.  They must want to buy it, to have it, and to get a home loan for it from their local bank.  Important thus is that it must be cheaper than standard housing and just as much or more durable with a long lifespan, nice to look at and admire, and to be put up in a very short period of time.

To add some individualism, different lay-outs (architect plans) must be available for both 2 and 3 bedroom units, different paint colors, and it must be possible to add extra rooms to the house years later.   The house must further be ‘green’, with one water tank outside to capture rain water from the roof, and one solar panel for water heating, energy-saving lights, water-saving taps, and all the materials must as far as possible be environment-friendly.

Are you a manufacturer for what we want?  Or do you know/can find such a factory?  We are mainly looking for the house itself at this stage;  extras like solar panels can be obtained from other factories later on.  No matter how small your factory is at present, our investors can always help you expand it if necessary while CWT’s marketing network get the orders rolling in.  Proposals must be emailed to us as a PDF-attachment to cwt@cwnet.co.za.
