Before a manufacturer is willing to have their goods loaded on a ship or plane they require payment for it.  Getting goods on credit from a supplier in another country - especially with large shipments - is very rare in global trade.

A Letter of Credit backed up by a financial institution like a bank on behalf of the buyer almost always does the job, but with it comes bank fees, admin charges, a waiting period that must fit in neatly with the buyer's contract to prevent penalties, and careful planning. (A public holiday in one country, for example, can cause a proper delay.)  Oh, and simplicity flies out of the door.

CWT tries to keep an international deal as basic and simple as possible to have the deal progress as smooth and fast as possible, and cash is king.

That does not mean we trust a supplier, it only means we can pay them right on the bat while one of our brokers or agents are physically present while the right goods and right quantities are being prepared and loaded onto a cargo ship or plane.  (And no, there are no magic black briefcase full of cash; payment is still done electronically.)

They don't have to go and 'cash an LC' or work through a bank at all (except for needing a validated account to receive their payment), or wait for their bank to complete the paperwork before they can get paid.  When we pay the supplier in cash instead of providing an LC we can negotiate lower prices, plain and simple.

From there the shipping company takes care of it - and we do take out insurance should the ship sinks or fall prey to Somalian pirates for example - till it reaches port at its country of destination, from where one or more CWT-agents and/or one of our brokers take over again till the goods reach its buyer safely.

Occasionally CWT requires bridging capital to pay manufacturers, especially with smaller shipments where the monetary value does not justify obtaining a LC (or LoC as it is also called.)  Keep in mind that part of CWT's business-model is using LCL.

Instead of moving LC's around from one bank to another, our buyer only have to provide us with a bank guarantee from his bank that the funds will be available to us on delivery of his goods to him, to set the transaction in motion.

Banks charge a fee for loaning this capital with sometimes hefty short-term interest and 204 different types of admin fees.

Where possible CWT prefer to make use of private investors, who are refunded by us in full plus interest earned, shortly after the merchandise is delivered to the buyer.  You are therefore invited to invest the amount of your choice in CWT to be used as bridging capital only.  The loan-period can be anything from 1 month (when goods are flown to another country) up to several months.

Your money will only be used by us to pay a manufacturer, and/or for the shipping of goods, after the buyer for those goods already paid for the shipment or provided us  with rock-solid guarantees in the form of an irrevocable Letter of Credit from an established bank.

Investors get their full investment back plus interest as negotiated beforehand, once-off.  We aim to make the agreement as simple and straight-forward as possible, without the legal jargon that came with bank-contracts.

Your interest can be in some instances as high as 20% - definitely an excellent investment for a three to six months investment.  This is open for negotiation - as long as we pay less back than we should have paid a bank, and you get more out than investing with a bank, we're happy to call it a win-win agreement.

This method of acquiring funds are cheaper for CWT than using banks, and at the same time the return on investment (ROI) for the investor is more as when s/he had deposited the money with his/her bank.

To minimize risk, CWT ensures that waterproof, legally-binding contracts are in place with both the buyer and the supplier before any goods are moved. Adding to that, thorough background-checks are done in regard to both the buyer and the supplier.
